Hi. I'm Amy. I love food and history and Kentucky basketball. I recently graduated with a BA in History, which means I like primary sources and the Chicago manual of style. I'll soon be off to grad school in African Studies. I post about academics more than you probably care to read. But that's just who I am, so if you don't like it then come at me bro.

I got a lovely e-mail about our orchestra rehearsal on Saturday, which is from four to six:
“Please be available until 6:30pm for the dress rehearsal on Saturday. I will try to keep it to 6pm but it will be our one chance to check balance with the risers, shells, and the extras. The closer we can start to 4pm the earlier we’ll be done though.”

I WILL WALK OFF THAT STAGE AT 6:00 NO MATTER WHAT.
then when alison stops me in the hallway
and asks if I’m alright
“are you sick? are you stressed out about having a lot of work?”
no… and well, sort of no and sort of yes
dammit I just can’t do this thesis anymore
“I’m fine…”
“well, please come by my office if you need to talk about life or thesis”
